Pi cam progress
Working on some pi camera programming tonight. Just a simple interface that uses the gpio buttons on the adafruit screen I’ve got. Not a huge jump, but a little progress.

Abandoned Knight
Decided that I’m not likely ever going to finish this knight as a knight and I’d rather display it as an old abandoned work in progress, so I made some scaffolding support out of laser cut scraps, and gave him a quick paint job. #Kitbash #terrain I like scaffolding.

wOrkshop
Here is a Mek’s workshop, built from a looted mechanicus factory. Inside is a scale model of a mega gargant the Mek boss is using to guide his apprentice meks from. The walls and ceiling have been punched through to make rook as its grown. On the roof is “da bitz bin” a large tank of spare parts waiting to be pressed into use, and they have rigged a crane and Traktor beam to pull parts from it……

Refinery Spruins pt2
Spruins I’ve got some paint on these now, just the main materials blocked out, which was pretty easy since its all going to be metal. I started with three shades of primer; grey black and white to get some variation and break up shapes while tying it all together with a bit of pre-shading. Refinery Spruins pt1
I’ve been combining bottles, sprue, laser cut scraps, 3d print supports, random curft, a bunch of resin cast greeblies and a few broken up plaster ones, and a GW set to make this refinery set. I cut a sheet of hardboard to the size of a ikea billy shelf, for the overall footprint, to ensure it will be easy to display. UE DF
Sorted out the missing and co flucting plugins and got the scene running in vr again. The VN is still inside out.
Opened up the nav boundaries outImported a heavy LOADR, but the texture seems off. It’s a fused fbx file, and looks correct in blender…

Ue 4.24.2 vr starter proj
I added the mesh editing plugins and a few others along the way. I figured out alt middle mouse to move the pivot of a model, to make my scans in arbitrary positions easier to deal with,
How have I taken it for granted so long?but now my level wont deploy to VR. I tried removing the plugins still no go.
Almost seems like its failing to build…Maybe I’m just tired.

UE VR DF

Pano pipeline
Looking at pano/latlong/cubemaps in Ue4 for VR
I spent the weekend trying to set up a pipeline for myself to go from some panos I shot into a VR scene. Its trickier than I anticipated.
Stitch pano in PTgui – export equirectangular – hugin/panotools export cube faces – stitch as .DDS in photoshop with nvidia plugin – import to Ue – convert texture to material, unlit, 2 sided, with emissive texture…
